Our History

The Joe Cooper Auto Group was born in 1946, starting as an Oldsmobile dealership in Yukon, OK. Known as the best mechanic in Canadian County, founder Claude Cooper bought the dealership from the local funeral home director who had actually performed funerals and sold cars out of the same building! After Claude suffered a heat stroke while working on a customer's car, his son Jackie Cooper took over the business at just 21 years of age, becoming the youngest new car dealer ever recognized by a major auto company. Now overseen by Joe Cooper, the auto group continues to follow the example of Claude and Jackie.
